Fingerboard Planing Jigs

Fingerboard planing jigs: one for side planing and one for face planing (both flat and radiused faces).

The design is based on fingerboard measurements for a typical newly-made violin: 270mm long, narrower end 24mm, wider end 42mm, 41.5-42mm radius, 5-5.5mm thick.

The side planing jig works for any violin or viola fingerboards.

The face planing jig works for both violin and viola too, though some viola fingerboards may not fit snuggly at the wider end, due to having different angles. You may order a custom add-on section to make it snug (the jigs come in sections). 

Both jigs come in sections - to replace or add a section on either end on the face planing jig, it would be an additional $20. For fully custom or more peculiar sizes, please email info@chenlytools.com for a quote.
